Once you receive notice of our accommodations decision, if you do not plan to appeal or request reconsideration, complete the NCBE portion of the MPRE registration process in your NCBE Account and schedule your test appointment with Pearson VUE as soon as you can. While the registration deadline is several weeks prior to the test administration, some test accommodations may take longer for the Pearson VUE testing center to arrange. If you wait until the last minute to schedule your test appointment, you run the risk of not being able to test on your preferred test date, at your preferred location, and/or at your preferred test time.
Some accommodations require custom testing materials and/or arrangements and additional preparation time. Please refer to your determination letter, posted in your NCBE Account File Cabinet, for additional instructions if applicable.
Applicants whose requests are received after the Recommended Submission Date run the risk of not having a final decision in time to reserve a seat at their preferred test location on their preferred test date. It typically takes NCBE at least 25 business days to review a request. The later that applicants submit their requests after the Recommended Submission Date, the greater the chance that they will not receive a decision in sufficient time to enable Pearson VUE to arrange for and prepare approved accommodations by their desired test administration. In that event, you may still test under standard conditions (without accommodations). You may also choose to postpone taking the exam until the next test administration (refer to the Important Dates table above).
Also, note that if your request is denied or only partially approved, an appeal or request for reconsideration of our decision may take an additional 25 business days to review. Please keep this in mind when considering when to submit your request for accommodations. Requests, including forms and documentation, received by NCBE after the registration deadline for a specific MPRE administration will not be considered for that administration of the exam.
Test appointments can be rescheduled for a different appointment time or a different testing center location for the same test administration for which you originally registered. For information about scheduling, rescheduling, cancelling, and associated fees, visit MPRE Registration Information.
